Confession: I have days where being a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom, feels rather unfulfilling.

I LOVE being able to be home with my girls, and teach them…and this feeling really has nothing to do with how often they try my patience, or the constant exhaustion, or the fact that I never have a break (well maybe it’s a tiny smidgen that stuff…I dunno).

It probably has a bit to do with pregnancy hormones, and being anxious to meet Apple.

But mostly, I just hate the lack of doing anything that feels significant. I know that in teeny-tiny increments, day after day, teaching and raising my kids isย  significant. But a lot of days I feel like I’m stuck in the movie Groundhog Day. ALL THE THINGS I do every day have to be repeated again the next day. Keep the kids alive, teach them things, clean the house, feed all the hungry mouths, wash the stinky socks – it’s a never ending cycle. Sometimes, at the end of the day, I dread having to get up in the morning and do it all again. And I wonder…what did I do today that’s permanent? When is the last time I achieved something lasting?

Anyway…the other day, I captured beautiful images of a fleeting moment in time to help us remember it forever. I’d forgotten how much I love capturing life in a way that’s whimsical and lovely, that preserves memories, and helps us hold onto the little things…like the way Smiles covers her mouth with her hands when she giggles, or the way Artist leans her head on my shoulder and snuggles with me, even though she’s getting SO grown up (or how huge my tummy is right now ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).

Now, technically, Misteris and Artist did most of the work on these pictures, because they were maternity pictures, and therefore I was in most of them. (Thank you guys soooo much, you were awesome!!!)ย  But I had a vision for the images I wanted, and I collaborated with them to make it happen, then I edited them to have just the right feel…and I’m over the moon with the results! ๐Ÿ˜€

So…I know life is about to get crazy, but I really want to make a point of picking up my camera more often and capturing this life that’s whizzing by, because the days are long, but somehow in the blink of an eye time gets away from me, and my tiny baby girls are growing up right before my eyes, and I don’t want to forget all the wonderful details. Plus, I really enjoy taking pictures!

(Please forgive the huge amount of photos I’m about to share…I just love them so much I couldn’t narrow them down any more than this.)ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰
